AI Estimator produces a market analysis of your boat or yacht: a realistic price range, a recommended listing price, and the comparable boats behind the numbers. This page explains what the AI uses, how the estimate is built, and where its limits are.
What data the AI uses
- The boat details you provide: year (or year range), make, model, category, condition, engines, engine hours, equipment, and location.
- Comparable boats listed on public marketplaces in your region and beyond.
- Current market trends for your segment — supply, demand, and typical negotiation margins.
How comparable listings are considered
The AI searches for boats of the same or closely related model, similar year and condition, and in comparable markets. Foreign-market comparables are converted into the currency of your boat’s location so every figure in the valuation is genuinely comparable. Each comparable in the report keeps its own original asking price and source, so you can verify the basis of the estimate yourself.
What affects the valuation
- Condition: from “new / as new” to “needs refit” — one of the strongest price drivers.
- Engine hours relative to age and engine type.
- Equipment and refit history.
- Location: the same boat sells differently in different markets and currencies.
- Model desirability and how many comparable boats are for sale right now.
Accuracy and limits
An AI estimate is a market analysis, not an inspection. It relies on the details you provide and on public market data; it cannot see osmosis, engine wear, or the quality of a refit. Where the comparable market is thin (rare models, unusual configurations), the range widens accordingly.

AI estimate vs. certified appraisal
A certified marine survey or appraisal involves a physical inspection and is typically required by insurers and lenders. The AI estimate answers the pricing question — what the market will realistically pay — instantly. They complement each other: use the AI valuation to price and negotiate, and a survey to close.
